Grey Goose is hands down the most popular vodka in the United States. And its a damn shame. It's not a bad vodka; it goes down very smooth, and has a pretty decent taste. The bottle is always pretty cool in my opinion. But! I do believe there are better vodkas out there. Plus, a liter will cost you around $50 and around $8 to $13 bucks a shot. Not worth it.
You might think Grey Goose is made in distillery deep in France with some secret secret guarded monk recipe from the 13th century. But the truth is it was created by an American in 1997. Grey Goose is made in France but it was created for the American market. The creator wasn't a vodka maker but a great fucking marketer. It's reason for it's popularity is because of most of the reason I said before. It's design bottle, trendy price, and plus it's made in France! How chic.
If your at a bar, look for a local vodka, the US makes some great ones, especially on the West Coast. Hanger One, Square Vodka, Rain, and Lotus are by favorite. Enjoy!
Don't be afraid to order your new favorite vodka on ice. It's best served chilled. |
